Lower-eyelid aging in particular may involve several components, including prominent fat, skin laxity, hollowing beneath the eyes, and loss of cheek volume. Depending on the anatomy, treatment may include repositioning or removing fat, addressing excess skin, and adding fat grafting to create a smoother transition between the lower eyelid and cheek. Fat grafting may also be used to restore volume to the cheek when appropriate.

The location of the incision depends on the eyelid being treated. Upper eyelid incisions follow the natural crease. Lower eyelid incisions may be placed beneath the lashes or inside the eyelid.
Through these incisions, your surgeon removes or repositions the tissue identified during your consultation. The incisions are then closed, and you are monitored briefly before returning home with postoperative instructions.
